Assistant Director of Disability Services
Reporting to the Associate Dean for Student Development, the Assistant Director of Disability Services provides reasonable accommodations for qualified students under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Collaborates with students, parents, faculty, class deans, facilities, legal counsel, Residence Life and Housing, Academic Services and Learning Resources, college administration, health care providers and the like assuring that the College is compliant with federal and state laws, local ordinances and college policies and practices.
Masters or Doctorate in Counseling or Social Work or Assistive Technology and Human Resources with ability to interpret psycho-ed or neuro psych testing. Previous experience of at least 3 years with disability services on a college campus. Keen awareness of Federal and State laws that guide the process of providing accommodations to students with disabilities. Knowledgeable about disabilities, accommodations and technical aids. Ability to engage with and consult to a wide variety of students, parents and professionals on and off campus. Strong student service interest and skill-level.
